Tunisian University of Tourism urges holiday schedule review
The Joint Professional University of Tourism in Tunisia called for extending the winter holiday for the 2026-2027 academic year until January 1, 2027, instead of the recommendation from the Ministry of Education, which set the holiday between December 14 and 27, 2026. It emphasized that this extension would help promote domestic tourism, especially during the end of the year, and provide families with the opportunity to spend quality time together without academic pressures. The university also proposed adopting a rotating system between regions to redistribute demand for tourism and achieve stability in the seasonal labor market, as part of a dialogue with the Ministry of Education to support the economic and social sector.
