Riyadh Airport attacked as Houthis warn of worse
Saudi Arabia announced that King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh was subjected to a new attack by an unknown projectile, which caused a fire to break out. This came hours after the Houthis warned airlines and travelers to stay away from Saudi airports. Saudi air defenses intercepted a cruise missile near the airport. The recent attack is the third within a week and has resulted in 12 deaths and more than 300 injuries in previous attacks, which are considered the deadliest in the kingdom in over a decade amid escalating clashes between the Houthis and the internationally supported Yemeni government. Despite the airport's closure, the Global Oil Conference is taking place in Riyadh. Meanwhile, the Houthis have threatened a strong retaliatory response to any military intervention by Saudi Arabia, as tensions in Yemen continue to rise.
