Tunisia Exits EU Tax Watchlist
Tunisia has maintained its ranking as a country cooperating in tax matters with the European Union, with no unresolved obligations, according to the latest update from the European Union Council on October 9, 2026. This classification reflects Tunisia's commitment to transparency standards and the exchange of tax information, and is an indicator of its dedication to the financial reforms previously announced. Tunisia has exited the blacklists and the group of countries still monitored by European institutions. The European Union’s assessment aims to reduce tax evasion and promote tax justice. Tunisia’s current classification confirms its ongoing progress in tax cooperation, although the Tunisian financial system is not evaluated solely based on this ranking, which mainly focuses on cooperation and transparency standards.
