Islamic Development Bank considers steel plant funding
A delegation from the Islamic Development Bank is visiting the Tunisian Iron Steel Company factory in Menzel Bourguiba for three days, with the aim of reviewing the factory’s capabilities and production technologies. The visit includes an assessment of the possibility of financing a project to establish an electric steel plant with an annual production capacity of up to 300,000 tons of alloyed iron steel with added carbon. This project represents a significant milestone in the company's history, which since 1965 has played a vital role in supporting the construction, agriculture, and industrial sectors in the surrounding regions. This initiative is part of the bank's strategy to promote economic and social development in member countries and Muslim communities.
