French cities enforce curfew
The French government imposed a partial curfew in northern cities, including Lille, from Monday night to Tuesday, from 8 PM to 6 AM, as part of efforts to address the rising riots and violence that began on Saturday in protest against the cost of living. The resignation of Interior Minister Laurent Nunez was offered amid the security deterioration, but President Emmanuel Macron asked him to stay on and implement necessary measures to ensure transparency and improve police tactics, in an attempt to contain the escalating security unrest.
