Seized gold, cars, and cash in security raid
The Judicial Police Department in El Karajani managed to uncover a criminal network specializing in money laundering of unknown source gold. More than 70 kilograms of gold and 4.5 kilograms of silver were seized, along with nine luxury cars valued at nearly 25 million dinars, and cash exceeding 120,000 dinars. The investigations lasted six years and revealed that the network laundered about one and a half tons of gold intended for manufacturing purposes. They used the proceeds from these activities in real estate projects and luxury investments by establishing fictitious companies and exploiting supply and procurement records held by artisans, in order to evade taxes and launder money. Thirteen suspects have been detained so far, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining individuals involved.
