Tunisian sailor rescued off Italy
A Tunisian sailor from the city of Beni Khiar in the Nabeul Governorate near the Italian coasts was rescued after his vessel suffered a mechanical failure several days ago. The rescue was coordinated between the Tunisian Coast Guard units and Italian authorities. The rescue operation involved using a tugboat to free the sailor and tow the vessel, which was located 20 miles off the Italian coasts. The vessel then entered the port of "Chiesa" for repairs, and it will leave Italy to return to Tunisia. Despite poor weather conditions, the sailor is in good health. He had departed last Saturday on a fishing boat with a group of fishermen, but a mechanical failure caused his boat to drift toward the Italian coast.
