74 Tunisians Arrive in Italy for Construction Work
The International Organization for Migration has reported that 74 Tunisian workers have arrived in Italy to work in the construction sector as part of a European program aiming to employ 2,000 Tunisians in this field. This initiative is funded by the European Commission and the International Organization for Migration and connects Tunisia and Italy through the development of workers' skills and aligning training with the needs of the Italian labor market, which is expected to require between 3.3 and 3.7 million workers by 2029. The program focuses on pre-employment training, ensuring workers’ rights, and streamlining legal recruitment procedures, with the goal of addressing the shortage of Italian labor and increasing employment opportunities for Tunisian workers.
