Lebanese Justice Minister: Hezbollah's explosives pose security risk
Lebanese Minister of Justice Adel Nassar revealed that the explosives shipment seized by security forces, which Hezbollah has acknowledged ownership of, posed a threat to the country's security and could have been used to carry out attacks within Lebanon. He explained that investigations will determine the true purpose of the shipment, emphasizing that transferring or storing weapons outside state authority constitutes a breach of public security and endangers citizens' safety. The case arose after a vehicle loaded with hundreds of kilograms of explosives, specifically TNT and C-4, was intercepted while heading toward Beirut's southern suburbs. Hezbollah confirmed that the explosives were intended for defensive purposes to protect the land against Israel, while the minister stated the matter should be referred to the competent judiciary or the judicial council due to the dangerous nature of the materials involved.
