European Parliament urges Houthi terrorist label
The European Parliament called on the Union Council to list the Houthi movement, including all its factions and leaders, on the European Union's list of terrorist organizations, and to freeze its assets and dismantle its funding channels. This comes in response to the group's escalating threats, which have launched attacks on Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Israel, and inside Yemen itself, targeting commercial ships and infrastructure in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, threatening international shipping security and energy markets. The resolution urged the Houthis to cease hostilities and abandon their expansionist ambitions, reaffirming the European Union's solidarity with Saudi Arabia and the Yemeni government. It also called for enhanced security and military cooperation to protect navigation and maintain regional stability.
