Putin affirms Balbeskian's Middle East role
During his talks with his Iranian counterpart, Mosouad Beheshtian, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that Moscow is ready to assist in resolving the Middle East conflict, ahead of a regional summit in Turkmenistan. Putin praised the positive development in the relationship between Russia and Iran, noting increased diplomatic and military cooperation since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Beheshtian clarified that Iran is engaged in dialogue, but the United States is hindering progress toward a solution, confirming Tehran's desire to see a final framework to end the conflict. This comes amid ongoing deadlock in Iran's negotiations with Washington, escalating tensions, and the execution of military strikes.
