Abu Dhabi to host 2026 Triathlon World Championship
Abu Dhabi will host the 2026 Multi-Sport World Triathlon Championship at Al Hudayriyat Island from November 13 to 22, featuring more than 4,000 athletes from around the world. This is the first of its kind in the Middle East. The event includes competitive races for world titles across six categories, as well as community programs and entertainment activities for the public, such as untimed running races and timed races up to 10 km, aimed at promoting community engagement and sports awareness. The championship also provides an opportunity for non-athletes to participate in community events and family races. The hosting company, "Madinat," is also involved in sustainability efforts through initiatives like beach cleaning, aiming to achieve a gold rating from the International Triathlon Union. Additionally, an official app will be launched during the event to enhance the experience for participants and spectators.
