A draft Israeli law is currently being discussed that aims to expand control over archaeological sites in the West Bank. The legislation includes the confiscation and purchase of properties in the area, which could lead to the annexation of Palestinian lands and the expansion of settlements, particularly in areas like Sebastia. The law is viewed as a threat to Israel’s international relations and has raised concerns about violations of international law, while its supporters insist that it is intended to protect the historical heritage of the Israeli people.
