The Strait of Hormuz has experienced a shift in shipping routes, with large numbers of tankers and vessels passing through the Omani corridor, which the Sultanate of Oman has announced it is coordinating with the International Maritime Organization on. Meanwhile, fewer ships have been passing through the Iranian route, as some tankers turned away from the Omani passage following warnings from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. Data shows that since this morning, 39 ships have crossed, and over 50 vessels have been directed to use the Omani route, while some ships continued to transit through the Iranian corridor. This comes as international and security authorities monitor efforts to organize maritime navigation in the region.
