King Charles to skip Buckingham Palace
The British Royal Palace announced that King Charles III and his wife Queen Camilla will not make Buckingham Palace their permanent residence. Instead, Clarence House will remain their official residence in London. Buckingham Palace will continue to serve as an administrative and ceremonial center, despite undergoing renovations costing approximately 369 million pounds. The financial report revealed that the King has paid over 30 million pounds in taxes since ascending the throne in 2022, including 12.9 million during the 2024-2025 fiscal year. The King prefers to stay at Clarence House due to health reasons, while maintaining private rooms at Buckingham Palace for official use.
