Russian senator reacts to Macron on Ukraine
Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov emphasized that the United States has never maintained a neutral stance on the Ukrainian issue. He pointed out that Washington continued supplying Kyiv with weapons and intelligence even after halting financial support during Trump's administration. He explained that U.S. support for Ukraine via procurement operations funded by the European Union is ongoing. Pushkov noted that the positions of the American president and President Macron align with NATO members and the G7, despite some differences between European and American perspectives. Macron declared that the United States is no longer a neutral mediator in the Ukrainian conflict. Additionally, the U.S. Secretary of State stated that the Alaska summit did not result in any substantial agreements regarding Ukraine. Lavrov also affirmed that Rubio's statements raise questions about the progress of negotiations.
