British royal family funding sources and expenditures
King Charles III has become the first British monarch to reveal the amounts paid in taxes since ascending the throne in 2022, totaling approximately 30 million British pounds (about 39.6 million dollars). This move is part of his efforts toward transparency, amid increasing public scrutiny of the royal family's financial affairs. His sources of funding include the sovereign grant, which amounted to around 132.1 million British pounds in the 2025/2026 fiscal year, as well as private income from the Duchy of Lancaster and the Duchy of Cornwall. This constitutes part of the funding that supports official expenses and matters related to royal properties.
