Turkish Health Ministry performs first domestic heart-lung surgery
The Turkish Ministry of Health successfully carried out the first surgical operation using a locally-made heart-lung device, developed in collaboration with Aselsan. This marks a historic milestone in Turkey's healthcare industries and medical technology sector. Officials praised the achievement of the device, which provides safe support for blood circulation and blood oxygenation during surgeries, after the country previously relied on importing these sensitive devices. The goal now is to expand its use in local hospitals, thereby strengthening the national industry and advancing Turkey’s healthcare sector.
