Israel blames settlers for West Bank violence
The Israeli Public Prosecutor's Office has charged six individuals in connection with an attack by settlers on the village of Deir Dibwan in the West Bank, which included setting fire to a mosque and attacking homes and vehicles. These charges come amidst an increase in settler assault incidents, many of which often go unpunished, with 51 indictments issued since the beginning of the year. More than 500,000 Israelis live in illegal settlements in the West Bank, where daily acts of violence have sharply escalated.
