Hezbollah's initial response to Lebanon-Israel deal
Hassan Fadlallah, a Hezbollah deputy, announced his rejection of any direct negotiations with Israel following the signing of a framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel under American sponsorship in Washington. He called on the Lebanese government to withdraw from these negotiations. The agreement, reached after four days of talks, includes Israel’s withdrawal from two areas in southern Lebanon and the transfer of control to the Lebanese Army, an effort aimed at strengthening national sovereignty. American and Israeli officials confirmed that the agreement represents an initial step toward Lebanon restoring its sovereignty, despite Hezbollah’s opposition and Iran’s refusal to sign any agreement before Israel’s complete withdrawal from Lebanese territories.
