For the first time, Mansoura University in Egypt has documented the existence of pterosaurs, flying reptiles, in Egypt through the discovery of a pterosaur wing fossil dating back over 95 million years in the Western Desert. This discovery indicates that pterosaurs were soaring above the region's environments amid a prehistoric era rich with fossils of dinosaurs, reptiles, and fish. It also contributes to completing the fossil record in the Bahariya Oasis. This find is considered significant due to the rarity of pterosaur fossils worldwide, providing rare anatomical insights into their flight apparatus and representing a scientific advancement in understanding Egypt's ancient environments.
