US and Iran near Hormuz with 67 sorties
The Strait of Hormuz has experienced a surge in U.S. aerial activity over the past 48 hours, during which U.S. forces conducted 67 flights, including 46 refueling aircraft missions and 21 reconnaissance and early warning flights, as part of supporting naval and reconnaissance operations. This comes amid Iranian threats to breach designated routes and warnings that continued American flights could destabilize the security of the strait and the region. The strait is one of the most vital passages for the transportation of oil and gas, and this escalation reflects growing tensions between Washington and Tehran over freedom of navigation and potential military targeting.
