The International Federation of Football (FIFA) has canceled the suspension of US forward Florent Balogun, allowing him to participate in the Round of 16 match against Belgium. He was previously punished for a straight red card in an earlier match against Bosnia and Herzegovina. The decision was made at the request of the White House and through a personal call from Donald Trump. It was based on Article 27 of the Disciplinary Code, which sparked widespread reactions from the Belgian team, experts, and critics. Many considered that the decision conflicts with the tournament regulations and is unprecedented.
