Turkey has issued a commemorative coin worth five liras to celebrate the 36th NATO summit hosted by Ankara, while the summit focuses on strengthening cooperation among member states amid current tensions. The summit discussions mainly revolve around contentious issues between Turkey and the United States, such as Turkey's exclusion from the F-35 fighter jet program and sanctions imposed on it due to the purchase of Russian S-400 missile systems, as well as Washington's support for the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) in Syria. The meetings also address regional topics like Iran and the war in Ukraine, with expectations of providing Ukraine with military aid worth 70 billion euros. Meanwhile, Turkey is discussing the development of its defense industry capabilities and seeking to lift restrictions on arms trade within NATO.
