Egyptian team contract delay for Hossam Hassan
The Egypt national football team, led by Hossam Hassan, is aiming to complete the qualification for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations after their participation in the 2026 World Cup has concluded. The team faces challenges regarding the renewal of the coach's contract, as Hossam Hassan has requested a salary increase to 5 million Egyptian pounds per month to reflect his achievements. This request has been rejected by the committee overseeing the negotiations so far. It is expected that talks will resume after Hassan returns from his vacation, with the possibility that his annual salary could exceed one million dollars. Meanwhile, the team is preparing for upcoming qualification matches against Angola, South Sudan, and Malawi.
