Jay Clayton was announced as the new Director of the United States National Intelligence on Monday, in a move that follows a transition process. He is expected to oversee 18 American intelligence agencies. These changes come after the Senate voted in favor of his appointment despite Democratic opposition. He takes over the position previously held by Tulsie Gabbard, who resigned. Clayton's appointment aims to strengthen American intelligence capabilities in facing current security challenges and reflects the U.S. administration's focus on improving coordination among intelligence agencies.
