A homemade explosive device detonated in Moscow on Saturday during a private event at a downtown restaurant, resulting in the death of two people and injuries to 21 others. An unidentified woman, carrying a device believed by authorities to be primitive, attempted to enter the restaurant before the explosion, but was stopped by the security guard. The detonation of the device led to the death of the guard and another individual, while the rest of the victims were injured. It is believed that the explosion was remotely triggered and that the woman was unaware of the contents of the device, which contained one kilogram of TNT and metal balls to increase damage. The restaurant was closed at the time of the blast, and a comprehensive investigation and analysis team was called to the scene.
