Egyptian authorities close tourism sites during crackdown

The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has launched an inspection campaign against unlicensed tourism establishments. A total of 2,567 facilities engaging in tourism and hotel activities without permits have been identified. Among these, administrative closures have been carried out on 1,230 violating establishments, including hotels, tourist restaurants, diving centers, sea activities, and souvenir markets in governorates such as Cairo, Red Sea, South Sinai, Luxor, Aswan, and Alexandria. The aim of this campaign is to regulate the tourism sector, protect tourists' rights, and ensure the enforcement of laws.
