Russia labels Moscow restaurant blast as terror
The Mayor of Moscow described the explosion at a restaurant in Moscow on Saturday, which resulted in two deaths and more than 20 injuries, as a "brutal terrorist incident." The explosion occurred when a woman detonated an explosive device she carried in front of the entrance. Investigations believe the bomb was remotely triggered, packed with metal balls to increase casualties, and estimated to have an explosive force equivalent to one kilogram of TNT. The attack seemed aimed at attendees participating in a private event at the restaurant, which was closed at the time of the incident. The incident is attributed to an attempt to target guests, with no evidence so far of any Ukrainian connection.
