Israel did not review Gaza deal
The article discusses Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen's denial of the Israeli government approving a halt to strikes in the Gaza Strip, despite U.S. President Donald Trump announcing a ceasefire agreement that includes a second phase. The agreement entails a cessation of Israeli attacks in exchange for the disarmament of Hamas, with the transition process to be organized under the supervision of international forces and specific security requirements. Israel opposes certain terms of the agreement, particularly regarding the destruction of Hamas's weapons, the involvement of Qatar and Turkey in verification, and operational freedom for the Israeli army in the zones. The agreement is expected to start being implemented after a timetable is established within 14 days. The statements indicate that Israel prefers to disarm Hamas through diplomatic means and is not prepared for a full withdrawal at this time.
