Libyan protesters reopen institutions
The article focuses on the political and economic crisis facing Libya, particularly due to power outages and rising temperatures, which have led to widespread protests demanding reforms and holding corrupt officials accountable. The residents of Souq Al-Juma’a responded by reopening closed institutions, emphasizing that this step stems from a sense of responsibility to meet citizens’ demands and achieve stability. Additionally, the Misrata Revolutionaries Council called for peaceful demonstrations to demand reforms, reaffirming its support for elections and a referendum on the constitution. The protests are taking place against a backdrop of deteriorating basic services, heightened public frustration, and calls to dismiss the unity government, while both protesters and political leaders are striving to keep the movements peaceful and avoid escalating chaos.
