Iran Outlines 12 Strait of Hormuz Strategies
Iran has reached an advanced stage in studying a draft law to manage the Strait of Hormuz, which includes 12 related bills, aiming to regulate vessel transit in a manner that safeguards its national interests, after denying any plans to fully reopen the strait. It also emphasized that the situation in the strait will not return to what it was before the war, and that recent measures are a response to the United States' breach of its commitments and its imposition of an unsafe transit path. These statements come amid escalating regional tensions and ongoing US-Iranian conflicts, along with hints that negotiations with Oman are in their final stages, aiming to establish a mechanism to ensure safe navigation through the strait, through which about one-fifth of the world's oil supplies pass.
