Moroccan Govt: 11 Dead in Ceuta Melilla Crossings
More than 41,000 people attempted irregular crossings from Morocco to the cities of Ceuta and Melilla. Recent events resulted in the death of 11 individuals, including one accidental fall and ten drowning cases. The Moroccan Ministry of Interior confirmed that these incidents are due to some exploiting digital space, spreading misleading information, human trafficking gangs, and misinterpretations of laws that falsely claim easy access to Europe without legal consequences. Several migrants have been voluntarily repatriated in cooperation with Spain, aiming to gradually restore normalcy, while reaffirming Morocco's commitment to combating irregular migration, human trafficking, and strengthening border security.
