Iran and Oman Near Final Stratof Hormuz Talks
The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that negotiations with Oman regarding the regulation of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz have reached their final stages, with progress made on the mechanism for passing ships through the strait. Iran and Oman are examining a new route that ensures mutual interests and differs from the northern and southern pathways. They emphasized that these negotiations are bilateral and not linked to any other party, and that the closure of the strait is connected to the United States' violation of its commitments. The Iranian side considers US threats unjustified and affirms that Iran will act in accordance with its interests and national security. It also reports receiving communications from countries such as Britain, Ukraine, and Bulgaria, assuring that they will not be part of any war against Iran. The negotiations aim to foster a broader understanding that guarantees maritime security in this vital strait.
