Iraq and NATO to open Baghdad office
Iraq and NATO (the North Atlantic Treaty Organization) have reached an agreement to establish a liaison office for the Alliance in Baghdad, aiming to enhance cooperation and consultation on security and defense issues. The non-military mission will focus on providing advisory services and training, as well as supporting the Iraqi Army’s capabilities in cybersecurity, intelligence, and military developments, with the goal of developing its capacity to face potential challenges, in accordance with Iraqi government policies. This agreement comes after Iraq announced a temporary withdrawal of NATO positions in March, while support and cooperation in training and knowledge exchange will continue.
