Taiwan groups oppose pro-unification party ban
More than 20 civil organizations in Taiwan, including the Labor Party and the Peaceful Development Forum, expressed their rejection of the steps taken by the "Progressive Democratic Party" authorities to dissolve the "Chinese Reunification Promotion Party." These organizations considered this move an unwarranted assessment and threatened to use their powers to suppress political opposition. They called for the immediate withdrawal of the dissolution request. Additionally, the groups accused the custodial authority of treating pro-reunification supporters as agents of foreign forces, describing the measures as political repression that reflects division and conflict. They urged focusing on addressing social and livelihood issues instead of political maneuvers.
