Iraqi women in security face challenges
The participation of Iraqi women in the military sector has been highlighted, with statistics indicating that they constitute approximately 1.6% of the Ministry of Interior's workforce. Their numbers range between 11,000 and 12,000 women working in administrative and security specialties. Despite social and societal challenges such as opposition and bias, women continue to achieve notable accomplishments, including attaining high ranks such as Brigadier General and achieving personal and professional successes in politics and security. Experts also emphasize that female participation is gradually increasing and that their employment rights are equal to those of men, although society still faces resistance and traditional views regarding women's work in the military field.
