Iran and Oman Consider Temporary Strait Route
Iran is currently engaged in talks with the Sultanate of Oman to establish a temporary and secure route for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, aiming to ensure maritime safety. These discussions come as part of Iran's efforts to regulate navigation amid escalating tensions with the United States, which announced its intention to renegotiate relations with Iran without direct negotiations. So far, the talks have not resulted in any agreement to permanently reopen the strait, and this step is considered an attempt to avoid further escalation in the region.
