Oil transit persists through Hormuz amid tensions
Despite intermittent attacks carried out by Iran on ships, oil movement continues to flow steadily through the Strait of Hormuz from the Gulf, with amounts ranging between 3 and 5 million barrels per day. The waterway remains operational despite tensions and conflicts. Prior to the conflict, the volume was approximately 20 million barrels daily, representing 20% of global supplies. Iran is currently engaged in talks with Oman to establish a temporary safe passage for ships. Meanwhile, shipping activity in the Red Sea remains relatively stable, despite the blockade imposed by the Houthi group.
