Peace Council leader arrives in Israel for Hamas disarmament talks
Nikolay Mladenov, the Head of the Peace Council, arrived in Israel to discuss the implementation of the Hamas disarmament agreement, which was announced by U.S. President Donald Trump after nine months of negotiations. He initially expressed optimism but later confirmed that the strikes on Gaza had resulted in civilian deaths and the destruction of vital medical supplies for the population. The mediation efforts, involving Egypt, Turkey, Qatar, and the United States, aim to encourage Palestinian factions to carry out the disarmament plan and hand over civil governance in Gaza.
