Aoun urges release of Beirut port ruling
The article addresses the developments in the Beirut Port explosion case and the judicial efforts to achieve justice after six years have passed since the catastrophe that resulted in the death of more than 220 people and injuries to thousands. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun calls for the prompt issuance of the judicial ruling, emphasizing that justice requires upholding the truth and holding those responsible accountable for their negligence or role in the explosion. The judicial investigation, which has spanned years, has continued to face obstacles rooted in political conflicts, with the political influence of Hezbollah waning and legal hurdles being overcome to facilitate Judge Tarek Bitar's work. The families of the victims continue to demand justice, with Nohad Machnouk affirming that no one is above accountability, and that responsibility will include everyone, stressing the importance of truth in healing the national wounds.
