US ammo stockpile drops sharply
Reports indicate that the U.S. military has exhausted approximately 80% of its stockpile of interceptor missiles, particularly main missile defense systems like Patriot and THAAD, during the war with Iran. This depletion threatens its ability to intercept Iranian missiles and aircraft in the event of escalation. Prior to the war, the United States had about 2,200 Patriot missiles and 452 THAAD missiles; however, the consumption during the conflict significantly reduced these numbers, with warnings that a shortage of munitions could hinder U.S. retaliatory operations and increase risks for its allies. Despite this, the Pentagon and the White House have affirmed that the U.S. possesses enough munitions to achieve its strategic goals, and that America's military capability remains capable of conducting its operations.
