India seeks Zuckerberg apology over Modi video removal
Meta commented on the removal of a video of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Facebook and Instagram, confirming that the deletion was due to a technical error. However, an Indian parliamentary committee has demanded that Zuckerberg apologize within three days and warned of withdrawing "safe harbor" privileges from social media platforms if an apology is not made. This comes after a video clip of Modi, in which he addresses students during youth protests on July 23—focused on demands for better employment opportunities and reducing authoritarian tendencies in his rule—was temporarily removed.
