One Dead, Eleven Wounded in Israeli Strike on Tiebnine
The town of Tebnine in southern Lebanon, belonging to the city of Bint Jbeil, witnessed an Israeli airstrike that resulted in the death of one person and injured 11 others. The strike targeted the roof of a mosque with a corpse from the town. These events come after the Israeli army announced the commencement of precise strikes on southern Lebanon in response to an alleged violation of the ceasefire by Hezbollah. Warnings have been issued for evacuation in some areas, amid an escalation of military activity that coincided with an explosion of an IED targeting Israeli forces. Despite the signing of a framework agreement under U.S. mediation in June last year to de-escalate tensions, clashes and tensions continue along Lebanon’s southern border.
