Washington removes Iraqi airline sanctions
The United States lifted sanctions on Iraqi airline company "Fly Baghdad" and two of its aircraft, which had been listed on the sanctions list linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard since January 2024, without indicating any change in its policy toward Iran. The U.S. Treasury Department confirmed that this action does not reflect any rapprochement with the Iranian government or a change in Washington's stance towards the Quds Force or entities designated as terrorist organizations. This move comes at a time when Washington and Tehran continue their talks about reopening the Strait of Hormuz, following a temporary halt to attacks during the weekend.
