Cost of Trump-named US warships
The United States plans to build a fleet of 15 warships named after Donald Trump, with costs potentially reaching up to $275 billion, making them some of the most expensive American warships ever built. These ships will be equipped with advanced weaponry, including missile defense systems, sea-to-land missiles, hypersonic weapons, nuclear cruise missiles, lasers, electromagnetic guns, and more. They will be larger than current destroyers, yet smaller than previous battleships. This development comes amid a clear disparity in naval power between the United States and China, with concerns arising over Washington's lag in shipbuilding potentially allowing Beijing to gain the upper hand in this domain.
