A physical assault and widespread abuses against an Iraqi female prisoner at Al-Nahda Police Station in Diwaniyah have been uncovered. It was revealed that the attack was not an isolated incident but a crime supported by the cover of camera concealment. Authorities have detained those involved and referred them to the judiciary. Human rights experts have confirmed that prison conditions and detention centers in Iraq are experiencing repeated violations due to the absence of effective oversight and the weak performance of security agencies, despite international training received by staff. The investigation sheds light on the deterioration of prisoners' rights and the lack of accountability, reflecting the authorities' weak role in protecting human rights within security institutions.
