The Yemen-based Houthi Ansar Allah movement launched a wide-scale military offensive targeting Saudi forces in several areas within Yemen, using ballistic missiles and drones. The group, which is supported by Iran, stated that the attacks were in response to Saudi military mobilizations and resulted in the death and injury of hundreds of Saudi troops, as well as the destruction of camps and weapons depots. Saudi Arabia has not officially confirmed these reports; however, government sources reported the killing of around 30 Yemeni soldiers in the Houthis’ attacks on camps in Ma'rib and Hadhramaut. This escalation is considered one of the most severe acts of violence since the ceasefire ended in 2022, and it has heightened the military tension in the region.
