The Israeli army has acknowledged that it fired upon a car carrying five-year-old Hind Rajiha (Hind Raji) in Gaza in 2024, resulting in the deaths of five of its passengers, including members of her family. She was attempting to seek help while the car, carrying her and her family, was being shot at during their escape from the city. The army has launched a criminal investigation into the incident, discussing allegations that ambulance coordination conflicted with military orders, but confirmed that the vehicle was approaching unlawfully and was quickly targeted, leading to the deaths of most of its occupants, including the paramedics who were on their way to assist the injured. This investigation is part of a series of Israeli inquiries into the killing of civilians and rescue teams in Gaza during incursions in 2024 and 2025, amid international criticism and investigations into comprehensive human rights agreements and accountability.
