Archaeologists in Peru have discovered the remains of a fully grown human skeleton believed to have been sacrificed near the base of Huaca Boclana Pyramid, an important archaeological site dating back to the Lima culture that thrived between the 1st and 7th centuries along the central coast of Peru. It is believed that the body was buried during a ritual associated with opening a channel connected to a ceremonial pond, with the individual lying on their left side, with the skull oriented toward the pyramid and the Pacific Ocean. This discovery helps researchers better understand the rituals and traditions of the Lima culture. Today, the area is one of the open sites for tourists and features modern facilities.
